Why the Orange collars? Everyday when the dogs come in, we change out his/her collar for one of ours. Our collars are special, “break away” collars they have a special clasp on them that will open if the dog gets caught on anything or when wrestling with other dogs. That way there is no chance that any dog can be choked by his/her collar. We feel that these are safer than the everyday collars . |

Why Doggy Daycare? Dogs, like people, are social animals, and a Dog that stays at home all day alone will be bored, frustrated and unhappy. They may even exhibit destructive behavior or suffer from separation anxiety. In order for a dog to be healthy and happy, they need companionship, stimulation and exercise. At Hound Hangout Doggy Daycare, your dog will get the stimulation, love and attention he/she deserves in a fun and safe environment. Our dedicated staff will ensure that your dog remains healthy, happy and well exercised.
Who can come to doggy daycare? All dogs that come to Hound Hangout Doggy Daycare have provided us with vaccination records. The vaccines we require are: Rabies: Every 3 years DHPP: Every 3 years Bordatella: Every year Negative Fecal every 6 months
Each dog must be spayed/neutered by the time he/she is 6 months old.
In addition to the vaccines and being fixed all dogs go through an extensive screening process. We call this our “Meet & Greet.” After passing the initial “Meet & Greet” all dogs are admitted on a temporary basis. During that time we watch very closely to assure that each new dog fits in with the existing pack and gets along with all staff. We tailor each dog’s schedule with days we feel will work best for that individual dog.
What will my dog do all day? A spacious indoor playroom is provided for your best friend to play with other dog pals, hang out on the couch, or play with the provided toys.
Hound Hangout has a fully fenced and totally secure 3500 square foot outdoor play area furnished with 7 fire hydrants. Your dog will enjoy playing a game of fetch with the staff, or playing tug-of-war with other dogs. During those hot summer months your dog will enjoy romping with his/her pals in the doggy wading pools and our sprinkler.
Most importantly your dog gets plenty of attention from our wonderful staff if that is what your dog is more interested in.
What about small dogs? Hound Hangout has a wonderful group of small dogs that come to doggy daycare daily. We have a fantastic area for the little ones to rest when needed. This area is fully furnished with their own fire hydrant, an extra small chair and an extra small couch that only our little ones are allowed to use.
Is my dog safe at doggy daycare? Absolutely!! Hound Hangout limits the number of dogs we take on a daily basis to assure safety for all dogs and to assure that your dog has a good time without being overcrowded.
Hound Hangout also has a very strict 3 strikes you’re out rule. This means that if a dog has 3 minor incidents or one major incident, then that dog can no longer come to Hound Hangout.
Of course we do have the occasional small tiff between dogs. These have yet to be serious and since there are always two staff members available it is taken care of quickly. Also, there is always at least one staff member on site who is trained by the Red Cross in Pet CPR/First Aid “just in case.”
We also have a great working relationship with the veterinarian who is only about 1 block away. If a serious incident were to occur we would transport the dog to the veterinarian immediately. We would then contact you.
